On one hand, just because everyone is doing it, doesn’t necessarily make something a good idea.  Did your mother ask about people jumping off a cliff or a bridge?

On the other hand, most people expect a professional business to have a website.  The lack of a website will speak volumes to some people.  A web site that looks like every other site also has something to say.
